Want your export template to just work—without needing to re-enter information every time? This quick guide will show you how to set up the correct page properties in Confluence so your custom Scroll Exporter PDF templates can pull data automatically.

 Instructions

Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Open the Confluence page where the content you want to export is.

  2. Insert a Content / Page Properties macro (if it’s not there already).

  3. Inside the macro, add a table with the keys used within the template in the first column, and your desired values in the second column:

  4. Save the page.

  5. Open Scroll Exporter PDF’s export dialog and choose your desired template.

  6. Export your document—your values should now automatically appear in the correct placeholders.

The keys must match exactly (case-sensitive) for the placeholders to be filled correctly.

If you’re exporting a page tree, you can set your Page / Content Properties macro in your root page.

You don’t want the Page / Content Properties macro to appear in your Confluence content? Go to the macro’s settings and check the setting “Hidden from view“

Prefer not to manage values per page?
If you'd like these values to stay consistent across all exports (e.g., always use the company contact info), you can open the template itself and hardcode the values instead of using placeholders.
